"The Spinning Coin"

The object is a silver commemorative medal which celebrates an event in Dutch history. The "coin" was mounted in a spring loaded spindle topped with a knurled knob, allowing both sides to be viewed without touching it. The frame that holds the spindles hinges up and stops at 45 degrees and 90 degrees. This offers three display positions. The woods are maple burl, birds eye maple, and walnut. The silver hardware was custom made by Tom Whiting (Masters Gallery, Camden, Maine).
